We know that choosing someone to take care of your child is one of the most important decisions you can make. We hope that you find Little Learners a place you can call home, and relax knowing your child is growing in body and mind during the day.
Thank you for considering Little Learners Preschool to prepare your child for kindergarten and later schooling. We believe that your child's early education should be both play-based as well as academic.
Our classrooms are broken up into various "centers", such as a home or kitchen, science and math areas, a reading nook, blocks and building, and art supplies that are available throughout the day. Our teachers encourage the children to play, facilitating social skills along the way. Even though it may seem like they are just playing, they are learning valuable skills, including important social skills and cooperation with others, learning about signs, as most items are labeled, and early math skills.
As they progress towards our Pre-K classroom, a more academic approach is taken in order to prepare them for the more structured Kindergarten classrooms. For the most part, classroom time is devoted to learning letters and sounds, distinguishing shapes and colors, telling time, and other skills.
Weekly themed curriculum is provided by both Applebaum Training Institute and by our own teachers. We communicate reminders and special events through weekly and monthly parent e-newsletters. A healthy, homemade breakfast, lunch and snack is provided daily. We also offer Stretch & Grow classes weekly, as well as various optional extracurricular activities, such as Tickled Ivories piano lessons and Tumble Bus.
